2012 Year Recap // 10 Favorite Moments

1. Voted Best Bike Shop in Long Beach The Long Beach Post held a "Best of Long Beach" competition and with your support City Grounds Long Beach was named Best Bike Shop! The Post did a great write up and interview of the staff - we couldn't be more proud and we couldn't have done it without our amazing staff and customers. (Read more >>) 2. Moved Into New Warehouse Location! Along with our shops in Long Beach and Costa Mesa, we also have a warehouse location for added storage and processing of our online orders. We made the move in early 2012 from Tustin to Irvine into a larger warehouse. This only means a wider selection of products and more of everything to better serve our customers, plus room for a ping pong table ... right Paul?? (Read More >>) 3. City Grounds Kits Released We designed, released and quickly sold out of our first City Grounds kit - a track inspired design which we had produced locally at Endo Customs. A big thanks to Anthony Fernandez on the design and all of those who purchased it and apologies to those who missed it - keep your eyes peeled for new products in the future... (Read More >>) 4. Co-Sponsors of Wolfpack Hustle Marathon Crash Race // Edgar Wins! We were invited to help sponsor the Wolfpack Hustle Marathon Crash Race this year, an annual race that literally takes over the Los Angeles Marathon course the night before the race takes place. Hosted a Pop-Up Gallery for Wolfpack Hustle Crash Race Not only did we co-sponsor the race - but we hosted a pop-up gallery at the registration event. The gallery featured some amazing bike builds, and photography from our friends John Watson (Prollyisnotprobably.com) and Angelo Calilap (Cycleangelo.cc). The event was a huge success where we got to meet a ton of riders from across the globe and showcase some amazing art. (Read More >>) 6. Red Bull Ride & Style // San Francisco Trip  The City Grounds team, including staff and riders, headed up to San Francisco for the 2nd Annual Red Bull Ride & Style event. The whole trip was a complete success - from the drive up to the Chrome party, to the event itself. We can't wait until next year ... Boothby double backflip? (Read More >>) 7. City Grounds Finale // Summer Race Series Encino Velodrome For a second year we got to play host to the last and final race of the Summer Race Series at the Encino Velodrome. The event combined everything we love about the sport of cycling; great people, competitive racing and plenty of amazing bikes. (Read More >>) 8. Tradeshows // Interbike, Agenda & More Tradeshows are fun, exciting and overwhelming all at the same time. We love going because it gives us a chance to gauge trends, see old faces, meet new ones, get free stuff we will never use and bring in new products for you - the customer. This year we went to our fair share of shows including Interbike and Magic in Vegas, Agenda in Long Beach and much more. (Read More >>) 9. Launch of New, Improved City Grounds Website Hopefully you noticed already - but we made major changes to the the shopping experience on CityGrounds.com. While the looks of the website stayed pretty similar to before, it now has more features than ever. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to find what you are looking for. We aren't done and are continually working to improve the site - but we are excited where it is headed! 10. Community Pages // Bike Checks // Videos & More We aren't your basic bike shop, and we never want to be. While we do carry products for cycling and have knowledgeable mechanics and staff,  we also are part of a community. That community is made up of the people who work for, ride for and surround this company. In 2012, we worked on showcasing that through our community section in bike checks, videos and much more. Whether you have shopped with us locally, purchased something online, watched a video, gone to an event, or even trolled us on the interwebs - you have been a part of it. For that, we thank you. We have some exciting things planned for 2013 and can't wait to see what the year brings. Happy New Year, see you all next year!
